He left a pair of oxen and two steers which had to be driven back to Chelmsford
from Ashburnham. He was a revolutionary War Vetern. He is mentioned on the
rolls of Captain Asa Lawrence of Groton Company, commanded by Col. Poor of Andover
or Methuen, for a group of men that in the first part of the summer of 1778 went
to West Point. Some part of there service was rendered at White Plains and Peekskill.
Theis was eight months service. They received their dsicharges at White Plains
and Peekskill. This was eight months service. They received their discharges
in February 1779. The company was commanded principally by the First Leutenant
John Flint of Tewksbury. The company was made up of men from, Chelmsford, Bilerica,
