Reuben was elected Sheriff of Kewaunee Co., Wisconsin. He served in
the Union Army by enlisting in the Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry, Co A
27th Regiment, 15 August 1862. He was discharged as a Corporal 29th
August 1865 at Brownsville, Texas.
