Cory Sr.1 was born
on 24 Aug 1890 in Sac City, Sac Co, IA. He died on 10 Jun 1968 in
Olympia, Thurston Co, WA. BIOGRAPHY
Victor was born and raised on the old Cory farm South West of Sac
City, Iowa. He met his bride-to-be at the Sac County fair July 1915.
They courted in his dads buggy pulled by an old grey mare, the buggy
was black with yellow wheels. It was a deluxe model, one that the
wheels turned under the buggy. Vic and Sylva drove to Carroll on
Saturday, October 21, 1916 and was married at 2:15 PM, at the home of
the Rev R.B.Sheppard. In the late summer of 1917 Vic's mother bought
him a model T Ford for $500.00 cash. It had no starter and had to be
cranked. The top could be put down and it also had side curtains.
Victor worked at that time as a electrician wiring houses. Four of his
sons were born in Sac City. In 1928 they moved to Holly Springs, Iowa,
where son Thomas was born. They then moved to Smithland about 7 miles
away. Victor at that time worked for the telephone company. In 1938
the family moved to Heron Lake, Minnesota. In July 1940 Vic, Sylva and
Tommy loaded an old 1930 model A ford and migrated to the state of
Washington. Vic worked at Fort Lewis until his retirement. Victor, the
son of a Master Mason, was a proud Master Mason, as his five sons were
all raised Master Masons. His wife Sylva was known for her work as an
Eastern Star in the state of Washington for her faithful service and
the offices she held. Victor is buried in the Masonic Memorial Park,
Olympia Washington. William Victor Cory Sr. and Unknown were married on 21
Oct 1916 in Carroll, Carroll Co, IA. William
Victor Cory Sr. and Sylva Mae Busroe were married. Sylva
Mae Busroe1 (daughter
of Bird Thomas Busroe and Mary Catherine Downs) was born on 16 Sep 1900 in Grayson
Co, KY. She died on 26 Jul 1991 in Masonic Home Seattle WA.
BIOGRAPHY
Mother likes to tell this story; She and dad were married in Carroll
Ia. at 2:15 PM on the 21 of October 1916 at the home of the clergyman
Rev.R.B. Sheppard. The best man was Ed Tobin and the bridesmaid was
Linnie Tobin . She says dad was born and raised on the old Cory farm
southeast of Sac City Iowa on the east side of the old Coon River.
They met at the Sac County Fair July 4th 1915. They courted in his

Mother and dad were very active in Eastern Star an affiliate of the
Masonic order. They are buried beside each other in the Masonic
Memorial Park Cemetary, Olympia Washington. William Victor Cory Sr. and Sylva
